Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Viv Easton Counselling (“I”, “my”) collects and uses personal information when you use this website or send an enquiry. I am the data controller for information you send through this site.

What I collect

When you use the enquiry form I collect your name, email address, telephone number (if you give it), what your enquiry is about, your preferred way of meeting, and anything you choose to write in your message. Like most websites, the server also keeps basic technical logs (such as your IP address) for security. I ask you not to include anything you would not want stored by email.

Why I use it

I use your details only to reply to your enquiry and, if you go on to become a client, to arrange sessions. My lawful basis is your consent, given when you tick the box on the form, and steps you ask me to take before entering into a contract.

Who sees it

Enquiries are saved securely in this website’s admin area and emailed to me. So that messages are not lost if email fails, a copy is also sent to the technical administrator who looks after the website. I do not sell your information or use it for marketing. Your website host stores the data on my behalf.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiries only for as long as I need them to reply and arrange counselling. Enquiries that do not lead to counselling are deleted once they are no longer needed. If we go on to work together, I will explain how records are kept at the start of counselling.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. A cookie is only used if you sign in to the admin area.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, withdraw your consent, or object to how it is used. Contact me on 07736 347 788 or through the contact page. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
